Luke 6:38 An offering is anything you give over and above your tithe. You are not generous in the eyes of God when you tithe. Tithing is simply evidence of honesty and obedience. It is paying God what you owe Him. However, when you hear the voice of God leading you to give beyond your tithe, that is an offering. It is a freewill love gift to your God. You can give offerings to help finance your local church, a missionary, or any Christian outreach. Many ministries in the Kingdom of God survive solely on the freewill offerings of God's prosperous people.
